Follow the Flock Competition

Sheep Sanctuary is set in the heart of the North Yorkshire moors in Whitby. They love and care for sheep, cows, pigs, goats, alpacas, donkeys, geese, turkeys, hens and more.

Many of the animals are rescued from the food chain, and this is why, as a passionate vegan, Mummy Meagz feels such a strong connection to the sanctuary. She first visited in 2016, and quickly formed a special friendship and bond with Sharon, who founded the sanctuary. She found a kindred spirit. Since then Mummy Meagz has taken every opportunity to visit and volunteer, and is even guardian to a very special little sheep, Humbug.

"I followed the sanctuary for sometime online, before I visited this magical place 4 years ago. 'Magical' is an understatement to describe Sheep Sanctuary. Sharon and her family do the most amazing work, rescuing animals; some of whom are disabled and would otherwise not be here. They work tirelessly to provide love and a safe environment for all their rescues. Everything from the biggest bull to the tiniest lamb are cherished and given a forever home. Plus the accomodation and the reception you recieve is second to none. It's one of my favourite places in the world. Please support and visit, and you too will understand." Mummy Meagz

We want to give one of you the chance to name a new resident at the sanctuary, and in return go and stay and meet her, and all of the other wonderful animals who she shares her forever home with.

This is the sheep that needs a name. She recently came to Sheep Sanctuary with 2 friends. She was originally orphaned and raised by a lovely couple who decided to keep her. Sadly, they moved and had to rehome her but they did not want her to go into the farming industry, so she, and her friends, moved to Sheep Sanctuary. But the poor little girl needs a name! And that's where we need your help. Please help name our little herdwick sheep.

The prize includes a night's stay in the on-site glamping pod (sleeps 2), which is goat themed and very cute.

In the summertime, two rescue pygmy girls are resident in the area around the pod, but in winter they go indoors. There is a small cassette camping toilet in the pod, and an eco-friendly toilet in the garden next to the pod and also an outside camping shower facility. The pod has a small 2 ring cooker and sink for snack making or a cuppa tea. It is warm and cosy and has an electric fire that soon warms up.

You will also have a sheep hugging experience for 2 people, which is just magical! Followed by a Mummy Meagz feast!

We are asking a £1 donation per entry. Every £1 donated in this competition will go directly to the sanctuary, to help care for over 150 rescued animals. You can enter as many times as you like and the winner will be picked at random. Don't forget to mention your chosen name in the notes when you donate. If you enter more than once, you can pick a name per entry, or you can just use the same name for every entry.

Entries will close on 22nd April 2020 and the winner will be announced on 23rd April 2020.

Good luck and thank you for supporting this wonderful cause.
